The Wheel of Life

In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to lose sight of the essential aspects that bring balance and harmony. We find ourselves consumed by busy schedules and focused on specific projects, inadvertently neglecting other vital areas. This imbalance can lead to frustration and overwhelming stress, taking a toll on our overall well-being.

The Wheel of Life® (also known as the Life Wheel) offers a powerful tool to achieve this. Widely used by professional life coaches, this tool invites us to contemplate each facet of our life, helping us identify the areas that require attention and balance.

HOW TO USE THE WHEEL OF LIFE:

These are the 8 categories we have chosen but feel free to edit and use the areas of your life that are most important to you. Creativity? Love Life?

Think about each area and visualize what you want it to look and feel like. As you assess each aspect, you can compare your current reality to your ideal state, envisioning the balance you seek to achieve.

The Eight Categories in this Wheel of Life:

  1. Personal Growth: This realm reflects our commitment to self-improvement and inner transformation. It embodies the pursuit of knowledge, honing our skills, and embracing new experiences that lead to spiritual evolution.

  2. Health: Our bodies are temples of the soul, and in this sacred sphere, we assess the vitality of our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It is here that we cultivate habits that nourish and sustain us on our journey.

  3. Friends and Relationships: Within the bonds of friendship and love, we find support, laughter, and understanding. In this realm, we gauge the quality of our connections and the depth of our emotional ties.

  4. Spirituality: At the heart of the Wheel lies our connection with the divine. This sacred domain allows us to explore our spiritual practices, deepen our faith, and experience the profound unity with the universe.

  5. Career: As we traverse the Wheel, we encounter the domain of our professional pursuits. Here, we assess our satisfaction, growth, and alignment with our true purpose in our chosen career path.

  6. Finance: In the realm of financial well-being, we examine the flow of abundance in our lives. It is here that we reflect on our financial stability and the balance between material needs and spiritual growth.

  7. Recreation and Personal Fulfillment: This sacred ground celebrates joy, hobbies, and leisure. By embracing activities that bring us delight, we nourish our souls and find fulfillment beyond our daily obligations.

  8. Environment and Surroundings: Our external world influences our inner state. Here, we reflect on our living space, community, and the impact they have on our well-being.

The Journey of Rating:

As we traverse the Wheel, we assign a rating from 1 to 10 to each category, symbolizing the depth of fulfillment and alignment we feel in those areas. Like an artist shaping a masterpiece, these ratings become strokes of colors on the canvas of our life, creating a vibrant tapestry of balance.

Wheel of Life Example - True Story

Remember the number is just your own feeling. I remember doing this with a very successful friend who had a great deal more wealth than I did.  I put a 7 in the finance category and she put a 3 so this can really give you some insight into your mindset around your current situation and can be fun to do with a friend to get some perspective.

Embrace this sacred tool, for it is a gift to navigate the dance of existence with grace and wisdom. May the Wheel of Life guide you on a journey of self-discovery, self-love and joy.
